Don't follow advice from the internet on how to treat Coca-Cola food poisoning.
Not only does this drink not help with poisoning, but it can also worsen the symptoms.
Gastroenterologist Evgeniya Melnikova warned about this.

The doctor refuted the myth about the benefits of cola in cases of poisoning in a comment to Gazeta.Ru .
Why you can't treat cola poisoning
As Melnikova explained, cola contains orthophosphoric acid, which has a bactericidal effect.
However, its quantity is too small to achieve a positive effect in case of poisoning.
According to the gastroenterologist, since cola has high acidity and contains gas, the symptoms of poisoning can only worsen.
Cola, which contains few electrolytes, also does not promote rehydration.
On the contrary, the drink has a diuretic effect due to caffeine, Melnikova noted.
According to her, in case of poisoning, you should drink water, juices, compotes and fruit drinks in quantities of 2-3 liters per day.
The specialist also recommended taking enterosorbents and prokinetics.
