Scientists have discovered that intestinal worms can help treat certain diseases.
We are talking about the particles they secrete that are useful in the fight against inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).
Millions of people around the world suffer from this disease, according to one of the latest scientific studies.

Australian scientists have discovered that extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by the worm Ascaris suum significantly reduce inflammation in mice with colitis (a form of IBD).
The discovery, the researchers say, could serve as a foundation for developing new treatments for more than just IBD.
It may form the basis for combating other chronic inflammatory diseases, such as arthritis and type 2 diabetes.
The scientists said their work showed that inflammation could be reduced by targeting certain blood cells.
The experiments involved 130 mice that were specially “equipped” with colitis.
The results of the experiments showed “significant improvements.”
In this regard, scientists say that extracellular vesicles secreted by worms are a natural and non-invasive method of treatment.
In other words, the particles are not chemical – they are completely natural.
The researchers noted that if they can control the action of such particles, there will be no side effects from the corresponding treatment.
