Constant snoring in a child may indicate problems with the adenoids.

Otolaryngologist Igor Manevich warned about this.

A specialist told RIA Novosti about the dangers of enlarged adenoids.

What troubles can adenoids cause for children?

As the doctor explained, if a child constantly snores, breathes through his mouth, is often sick and has begun to hear worse, he most likely has problems with the adenoids.

Adenoids are lymphoid tissue located in the nasopharynx that filters air and protects the body from infections.

As the child grows, they decrease in size and disappear by the age of 18.

Enlarged adenoids can block the nasal passages and eustachian tubes.

This is fraught with difficulty breathing, snoring, frequent colds, hearing loss, and weight gain.

This is especially evident in children under three years of age, when nasal breathing is critical for normal breastfeeding, noted Manevich.

To determine the degree of adenoid enlargement, you need to see an ENT doctor.

There are three degrees in total, with the third almost always blocking the ears and requiring surgery.
