Next Monday, March 3, Orthodox Christians will begin Great Lent.
Nutritionist Ekaterina Guzman told us how to prepare for it.
The doctor’s recommendations are provided by the Krasnodar TV channel.

How to prepare your body for Lent
As the doctor explained, it is necessary to start limiting the consumption of animal products in advance. This will help avoid stress.
In the last week before Lent, Guzman noted, you can no longer eat meat. Eggs, fish, and dairy products are allowed.
This allows the body to gradually adapt to changes in diet, the nutritionist explained.
During the fast, the doctor continued, the body must receive enough nutrients.
Therefore, you should eat more vegetables, fruits, legumes, cereals, nuts, and seeds.
Mushrooms are a rich source of protein, the nutritionist noted.
People with chronic illnesses should consult a doctor before fasting.
If you feel worse during the fast, for example, you feel weak or dizzy, then you should not continue fasting.
