5 Mistakes That Make Your Flowers Wither Even If You Care For Them Properly

It seems like you're doing everything by the book: watering on schedule, putting the pots in the sun, feeding once a month. But the leaves are turning yellow, the buds are falling off, and it's unclear what else is missing.

Chances are, you don't even realize that some habits are slowly killing your plants.

For example, watering "in reserve". Many are sure: the more water, the better.

But the roots in the waterlogged soil begin to rot, and it is almost impossible to save the flower. Check the soil before watering: if the top layer is wet, put the watering can aside for a couple of days.

Another mistake is to put all the flowers on the southern window. Cacti and succulents will be happy, but violets and ferns will get burned.

Create diffused light for them using tulle or move them to the east side.

Did you know that spraying leaves in direct sunlight leaves spots?

Water droplets act as lenses, and the plant gets micro-burns. It is better to humidify the air around or do it in the morning.

Or that transplanting into a huge pot "for growth" is harmful? The roots do not have time to master the space, and the soil turns sour.

Choose a container 2-3 cm wider than the previous one. And what about fertilizers in winter? Most flowers sleep in the cold, and fertilizing only depletes them. Wait until spring.

And most importantly, don’t ignore the signals. If the leaves are curling, the air may be too dry. Place a jar of water or wet expanded clay nearby.

If the stems stretch out, there is not enough light.

If the buds fall off, check for drafts.

Even dust on the leaves blocks photosynthesis - wipe them once a week with a damp cloth.

And don't be afraid to change your approach: sometimes it's enough to move the pot or change the soil to bring the plant back to life.

Remember: flowers don't act up for no reason. They speak to you in the language of leaves and shoots - all you have to do is learn to listen to them.
