Before flowering, the flower needs more light. If the lighting is poor, you should not count on flowering. If necessary, you can provide additional lighting for the plant.
However, everything changes dramatically when the buds appear. By this time, the orchid has received enough light, and additional lighting can be safely removed.
When the buds open, look for less illuminated corners of the house for the orchid.
The move will not harm the plant. But only if the flower meets the other conditions: air temperature, optimal humidity and no drafts.
Too much light shortens the flowering period, say experienced gardeners. When the orchid has finished flowering, it can be returned to its original place, experts recommend.
