If your apple tree bears fruit once every three years, and the apples are the size of walnuts, then it is not age that is to blame, but your ignorance of spring rituals.
We will tell you how to care for a tree during the most important period.
The first is to "shoot" the bark. Take a hammer and gently tap the trunk to knock off the old bark. Codling moth larvae and fungal spores are hidden under it.
The second is a "drunk injection". Drill a 5 cm deep inclined hole in the trunk, insert a tube and pour in 100 ml of beer. Carbon dioxide will awaken dormant buds, and the tree will be covered with flowers.
Third - "red pepper against hares". Coat the lower part of the trunk with a mixture of clay and ground pepper (2 tbsp. per bucket). Rodents will not even come close!
But the main secret is pharmaceutical feeding.
Dissolve 10 tablets of succinic acid in 10 liters of water and spray the tree before the buds open. This will strengthen the immune system and increase the number of ovaries.
And to make the apples sweeter, bury 3 rusty nails under the roots - the iron will prevent bitter spot!
The apple tree also needs a "massage". Wrap the trunk with burlap soaked in a solution of copper sulfate (100 g per 10 l). This will protect against lichens and ants.
If the tree is affected by scab, spray the crown with horsetail infusion (500 g of grass per 10 l of water, boil for 30 minutes).
To attract bees, hang jars of honey water on the branches (1 teaspoon of honey per glass).
And don't ignore the apple tree's "tears." If the cracks are leaking juice, seal them with garden pitch with wood ash added.
To prevent the branches from breaking under the weight of the fruit, install supports from old umbrellas in the summer.
But the craziest life hack is "apple hypnosis." Every day, tell the tree how strong and fruitful it is. It sounds funny, but plants react to sound waves!
