How to feed an orchid when the plant refuses to produce buds: instead of a flower shop, go to the grocery store

Orchids have long won the hearts of flower growers, but even experienced owners sometimes face the whims of tropical beauties.

When a plant doesn’t want to bloom and the leaves lose their shine, an unexpected helper comes to the rescue – a banana peel.

A simple fertilizer recipe does not require any special skills.

The peel of one banana is cut into small pieces, poured with a liter of warm water and left for 6-8 hours.

The resulting liquid is filtered and the orchid is watered at the root once every 3-4 weeks.

It is important not to overdo it: an excess of nutrients is just as harmful as a deficiency.

Banana peel saturates the substrate with potassium, phosphorus and magnesium.

These elements strengthen the root system, accelerate the formation of flower stalks and extend the flowering period.

An additional benefit is the improvement of the soil structure: it retains moisture longer while remaining breathable.

The result becomes noticeable after 2-3 months. The orchid produces new leaves, followed by shoots with buds.

This method is safe and cost-effective, and most importantly, it is suitable even for weakened plants.

Please note: Only fresh peels are allowed to be used. Rotten parts of banana peels are not suitable for making orchid fertilizer.
