Cucumbers can be grown both in a greenhouse and in open ground. Fertilizing is necessary for this crop in both cases.
Today we propose to discuss the last option – fertilizer for cucumbers growing in open ground.
Fortunately, there is plenty to choose from: organic compounds in dry and liquid form (manure, compost, chicken droppings), as well as a yeast solution, iodine and onion peel infusion are suitable for fertilizing cucumber beds.

Yeast supplements
Yeast stimulates the root system to grow and causes cucumbers to more readily absorb nutrients.
To prepare the fertilizer, you can dissolve 200 g of fresh yeast in 10 liters of water and leave it for 3 days in a warm place, remembering to stir it once a day. Fertilize cucumbers with this mixture at the root.
There is another option, which requires 1 liter of milk and 100 g of yeast. After a few hours, the mixture should be brought to a volume of 10 liters with water, after which it can be used for spraying.
Iodine supplementation
Thanks to iodine, cucumbers grow well and are protected from diseases. Important: you should strictly adhere to the dosages in the recipes so as not to burn the delicate cucumber foliage.
Iodine-based fertilizer is prepared from 1 liter of milk (can be replaced with whey) and 30 drops of iodine. It can be used once a month for both watering and spraying.
To speed up vegetation, dissolve 10 ml of ammonia and 10 drops of iodine in 10 liters of water and water the bushes with the resulting mixture.
Onion peel nourishment
Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from onion peels can be transferred to cucumbers simply by spreading this raw material on the beds.
To prepare decoctions and infusions from onion peels, follow these instructions.
Pour 1 cup of husk with 8 liters of boiling water and leave to infuse for 2-3 days. Before use, the product must be filtered and diluted with water in a ratio of 1:2. It is suitable for spraying stems and leaves 2-3 times during the growing season.
You can also pour a handful of peels with 5 liters of water and boil for 5 minutes. After cooling, do not forget to strain. Let the solution cool and strain, after which it is ready for feeding cucumber seedlings, which should be done 2-3 times for 2 weeks.
