How to feed petunias in March so that they bloom until the frost

Petunias can bloom in waves until the first frost, but for this they need “fuel”, which is laid down already in March.

Most gardeners use complex fertilizers, but there is a cheaper and more effective method.

All you need is regular yeast and… aquarium water. Yes, the same one you drain when cleaning the aquarium: it contains nitrogen, phosphorus and beneficial bacteria that create a symbiosis with the roots of petunias.

At the beginning of March, when the petunia seedlings release their third leaf, water them with a solution: dissolve 50 g of fresh yeast in 5 liters of warm water, add 1 glass of aquarium water and 2 tablespoons of sugar.

Let the mixture ferment for a day, then dilute 1:5 and water the plants at the roots. The yeast will activate the soil microflora, and the aquarium water will saturate it with organic matter.

In just a week, the stems will become thicker, and buds will begin to form even on weak shoots.

But that's not all. For continuous flowering, spray petunias with banana peel infusion once every 10 days: pour 3 peels with a liter of water, leave for 3 days, strain. Potassium in the composition will make the flowers larger and their color brighter.

If the leaves start to turn yellow, add a pinch of iron sulfate to the infusion - this will prevent chlorosis.

The main thing is not to overwater the petunias. Let the soil dry out between fertilizing, otherwise the roots will rot.

Why does the method work? Yeast and aquarium water create a "biococktail" effect that stimulates cell division without chemicals.

To enhance the result, pinch the tops of the shoots after the fourth leaf - this will force the petunia to bush out rather than stretch upward.

By the way, you can water other flowers with this solution, but for succulents the yeast concentration is reduced three times.
