Instead of spending money on buying a vitamin seasoning for various dishes, you can try growing basil in your apartment - right on the windowsill.
This crop does not require any super-complicated care - even with minimal effort on your part, it will actively grow shoots from the main stem.
Secrets of Growing Basil at Home

Basil can be grown in a variety of ways, such as from seeds, cuttings, or by transplanting a finished bush into a pot.
If we talk about indoors, then the most suitable option is considered to be sowing seeds. As a result, the owner of basil gets a lush bush and can use the harvest of juicy and fresh greenery all year round at his own discretion.
The main thing is to follow these rules when growing basil.
1. When choosing a variety for planting, choose from the following: "Carnation aroma", "Marquis", "Small-leaved", "Bunch".
The rest will take a long time to develop and, in addition, will be overly demanding in terms of care.
2. Growing containers must be at least 15 cm deep – this way you won’t have to pick out plants.
Make sure they are equipped with "drainage holes".
3. A ready-made universal soil mixture intended for growing indoor plants is suitable as soil. But it should be used in a slightly modified form: mixed in proportions of 1 to 1 with garden soil or biohumus. In the latter case, it is worth sticking to the ratio of 1 to 4.
4. Basil will benefit from being placed near a window facing south or southwest. In the autumn and winter, you should provide it with 12 hours of daylight using phytolamps.
5. The temperature in the room where basil is grown should not fall below +20 degrees, and there should be no draft from the window.
6. When the bush grows by 8-10 cm, pinch its top. As a result, it will release side shoots, but the flower stalk will not appear on it.
