Imagine that your garden beds will remain clean all summer long, and you will forget about endless weeding.
The secret is not in herbicides or grueling work. All you need is regular table salt and boiling water, which every housewife has.
The method is so simple that you will wonder why you haven't used it before.

Salt dissolved in hot water creates an environment in which weeds cannot germinate, and boiling water "cooks" their roots. But it is important to act carefully so as not to harm the cultivated plants.
In March, while the weeds are still weak, water the spaces between the rows and paths with a solution of 1 kg of salt per 5 liters of boiling water.
The mixture destroys the roots of dandelions, woodlice and couch grass, and the salt blocks the germination of new seeds for 2-3 months. The main thing is to pour the solution strictly on the weeds, avoiding contact with cultivated plants.
If you treat the area before the shoots appear, the effect will last until mid-summer.
To protect flower beds and seedling beds, use cardboard or thick paper: cover the soil with them, leaving holes for useful plants. The cardboard will rot over the season, becoming fertilizer, and the weeds underneath will suffocate without light.
But there is a nuance: the salt method is only suitable for paths and areas where nothing is planned to be planted for 1-2 years.
For garden beds, it is better to use boiling water without additives - water the soil with it early in the morning, before the weeds have time to "wake up".
After such treatment, the soil is loosened to destroy the root system of pests. If the weeds have already sprouted, cover them with black film for a week - the lack of light will kill even the most tenacious species.
Why does it work better than herbicides? Salt and boiling water do not accumulate in the soil like chemicals and do not harm earthworms. And cardboard mulch additionally retains moisture and heat, accelerating the growth of crops.
By the way, you can even clean your lawn this way - pour boiling water over the weedy areas, and in a day they will turn yellow.
