Imagine your neighbors slowing down, envying the lush globes of flowers, shimmering with every shade of pink, white and crimson.
This is not a dream - it is a reality if you know the rules of growing peonies.
These plants can decorate any area, but only on one condition: you do not make typical mistakes of beginners.

Where to plant peonies so that they bloom for decades
Peonies are capricious about their place of residence. They need sun - at least 5-6 hours a day, but in the southern regions the midday heat can burn the petals. Here, a light shade after lunch saves.
Avoid lowlands: stagnant water kills the roots. The ideal soil is loose, like a feather bed, with neutral acidity.
If the soil is too clayey, add sand and compost; if it is sandy, mix it with clay.
Planting: A Ritual That Will Determine the Flower's Destiny
August and September are sacred months for peonies. Planted at this time, they will have time to take root before the frosts.
The hole for herbaceous varieties should be the size of a bucket (60–70 cm), for tree-like varieties – a palm deeper. At the bottom – a drainage layer, then a “cushion” of humus, a handful of superphosphate and potassium salt.
The roots of herbaceous peonies are hidden 3–5 cm underground, while tree peonies are deeper, up to 15 cm. And there is no crowding: a meter between bushes is the minimum!
Post-landing care
The soil around the seedling is compacted, watered with a bucket of water and covered with mulch.
Next, be patient: the first two years, peonies grow roots, not flowers. Do not overfeed them with nitrogen - this is the path to lush greenery without buds. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are added only in the third year. And remember: peonies hate transplanting.
Choose a place for them once, and they will thank you with decades of luxurious flowering.
Peonies are not just flowers. They are a story that begins with a properly buried root and turns into a legend of your garden.
Follow these rules and your flower beds will become a place where spring reveals itself in all its beauty.
