As is known, the most optimal time for sowing pepper seedlings cannot be constant and unchanged.
They depend on the climatic conditions of the region and the intended “registration” of the vegetable in a greenhouse or in open ground.
But if we take general figures, then on average, sowing sweet pepper seeds for seedlings is carried out 60-70 days before transplanting to a permanent location.

Thus, in the central part of Russia and Belarus the process usually takes place at the end of February – beginning of March.
As a rule, gardeners are guided by the weather conditions in their region (there are those who take into account the recommendations of the lunar calendar).
But in a generalized version: if you want to transfer seedlings to open ground in mid-May, it is better to sow the seeds in late February – early March.
For greenhouses where planting is done earlier, this process can start even at the beginning of February.
By the way, it is necessary to understand that each pepper variety may have its own growing characteristics and, accordingly, its own planting times.
And what does the lunar calendar say? For sweet peppers it gives the following dates in March for sowing:
– the best days are March 1 (before noon) and March 8-9;
– good days – March 17-21 and 27-28.
For hot pepper:
– the best days are March 1 (afternoon), March 2 and 3 (before noon), March 30;
– good days – March 17-19 and 22-24.
