What Happens If You Water Seedlings With Tea? The Effect Will Amaze You

Are you growing seedlings, but they are withering, despite the lighting and fertilizing? Do not rush to buy stimulants!

It turns out that you can save seedlings with the help of regular tea that you drink every day. Used tea contains tannins, theine and antioxidants, which not only strengthen the roots, but also protect plants from stress.

It also works as a natural antiseptic, preventing black leg, the main nightmare of gardeners.

Collect the tea leaves from 10-15 cups of tea (black, green or even herbal will do), spread them out in a thin layer and dry. Mix with seedling soil in a ratio of 1:4 - this will make the soil loose and breathable.

When picking, add a pinch of tea leaves to each hole - it will gradually release nutrients.

But the main secret is in the "tea party" for seedlings. Pour 1 glass of dry tea leaves with 2 liters of boiling water, cool to room temperature and water the seedlings at the root. Repeat once every 10 days.

After the first watering, you will notice how the stems become thicker and the leaves brighter. Tannins in tea strengthen plant cells, making them resistant to temperature changes and drafts. And theine (tea caffeine) stimulates cell division, accelerating growth.

For particularly capricious seedlings (for example, eggplants or peppers), add 1 teaspoon of sugar per liter to the tea infusion - this will give additional energy.

But be careful: tea slightly acidifies the soil. If the seedlings prefer neutral soil (like cabbage or onions), sprinkle the soil with wood ash after watering with tea.

Do not use tea with flavorings or fruit additives - chemicals can destroy the tender roots. Those who have tried the method assure: seedlings stretch out 2 times slower, and after planting in the ground almost do not get sick.

Additional life hack: soak the seeds for 2 hours in a weak tea infusion (1 teaspoon of tea per glass of water) - this will soften the shell and speed up germination.

And if you spray the shoots with cooled tea, it will protect them from spider mites. Try it, and you will no longer want to spend money on store-bought products!
