When to plant tomato seedlings in 2025
In the southern regions, tomatoes can be sown for seedlings as early as the end of February.
However, in February there are no more favorable days for sowing tomatoes.
Next month there will be only four favorable days – 18, 19, 27, 31.
In April, it is recommended to plant tomatoes on the 1st, 4th, 5th, 14th, 15th, 23rd-25th.
In regions where the risk of frost remains until mid-May, tomatoes should be sown for seedlings from mid-March to the 20th of April.
Early varieties are planted in the ground 45-55 days after the first leaves appear.
Mid-season and late varieties should be planted 65-70 days after the first leaves appear.
Experienced gardeners advise planting tomato seedlings in small batches over 10-14 days.
This recommendation is especially relevant for regions where frosts are possible until the beginning of June.
