Your ficus could grow to the ceiling in just one year: a secret that stores don’t tell you

Has the ficus in the corner of the room long ago turned into a boring bush? Don't rush to blame the variety or lack of light.

It's all about how you "train" it. These plants are manipulators.

If you rarely turn the pot, the ficus will begin to grow only in one direction, saving energy. But if you turn it 90 degrees every week, the crown will become lush.

Did you know that ficus love beer? Wipe the leaves once a month with a soft drink - they will shine, and the plant will get a dose of B vitamins.

Another life hack is a “root shower.” Once every six months, carefully remove the ficus from the pot, rinse the roots with warm water, cut off dry shoots and plant in fresh soil.

It's like a reboot: in a month, a dozen new leaves will appear.

And don't forget about "talks" - ficuses grow faster if you regularly communicate with them. It sounds crazy, but voice vibrations stimulate cellular metabolism!

But for the ficus to stretch upwards, it needs a “target”. Place a tall support wrapped in coconut fiber next to it – the trunk will begin to twine around it like a liana.

And if you want a thick tree-like trunk, provoke competition: plant 3-4 cuttings close to each other in one pot. Over time, they will grow together, creating the effect of a powerful tree.

Another secret is "night walks". In summer, take the ficus out onto the balcony after sunset. The coolness and fresh air will strengthen the immune system, and the morning dew will moisten the dust from the leaves.

But be careful: drafts are the main enemy of ficuses. If the leaves fall off, it means the plant has "caught a cold".

Don't ignore ficus "tears". White sap coming out of the cuts is a reaction to stress. Always use a sharp knife when pruning, and sprinkle the wounds with crushed charcoal.

And remember: ficus does not like frequent moves. Choose a permanent place for it, otherwise it will shed its leaves in protest.
