A criminal case has been opened regarding the attack on post office visitors in the Drybin district.

A forensic psychiatric examination has been ordered for the suspect.

What happened

According to preliminary information, this morning at the post office in the agro-town of Ryasno, a 39-year-old man began screaming, smashing everything around him and beating up other visitors due to difficulties with paying his bill.

A 71-year-old pensioner died from her injuries, and two other women (51 and 68 years old) were taken to hospital.

A policeman returning home from his 24-hour shift helped to neutralize the attacker.

A criminal case has been opened on attempted murder of two or more persons, and a forensic psychiatric examination has been ordered for the suspect.

The issue of applying a preventive measure in the form of detention to the defendant is being decided.
