The way to a man's heart is through his stomach: what to feed your chosen one to win him over

The results of modern research confirm that the way to a man's heart really is through his stomach.

The amount eaten does not matter – the taste of the food is important.

The connection was explained to aif.ru by Doctor of Medical Sciences Konstantin Dobretsov, who holds the post of director of the Research Institute of Olfaction and Olfactory Pathology.

Humans have the ability to distinguish five tastes: salty, sweet, sour, bitter and umami.

Four nerves located in the oral cavity are responsible for their recognition.

Through taste buds on the tongue, they receive a stimulus and transmit the signal further, to the medulla oblongata, and from there the nerve fibers are directed to the part of the brain called the thalamus.

At the same time, when a person swallows food, retronasal olfaction occurs - the stimulus is received by the olfactory nerve and through the olfactory bulb transmits it to the central parts of the olfactory brain, including the hypothalamus and thalamus.

They (the central sections) produce neurotransmitters, or “happiness hormones,” and taste and olfactory stimuli, in turn, combine and enter the frontal lobes of the brain.

The tastier the food, the more hormones will be released and the more stimulation the brain will receive.

And, in addition to stimulating the “happiness hormones,” during eating there is also a release of sex hormones.

The hypothalamus produces releasing hormone, which regulates sex hormones – testosterone.

Here is the conclusion: delicious home-cooked food, which was prepared with love, evokes the most positive emotions and thus paves the way to the heart.

And tasteless dishes lead to the fact that stimulation does not occur, as well as the production of positive neurotransmitters.
