A Little Predator in the House: Why Your Kitten Bites and How to Deal with It

When getting a furry friend, many are not prepared for its sharp claws and teeth.

But aggression is not a death sentence, but a natural instinct. The main thing is to learn how to gently direct your pet's energy into a peaceful direction.

If the kitten bites your hand, do not jerk - sudden movements will only provoke it.

Relax your palm: this will reduce the hunting excitement, forcing you to let go of the “prey”.

Some owners use a light spray of water to interrupt the attack. But remember: this method only works if the reaction is immediate, otherwise the kitten will not understand the connection between the bite and the consequence.

Playing with your hands is the main trigger for bites. Replace them with toys: balls, fishing rods with feathers, or even a cardboard box.

The kitten must clearly know that it can only hunt objects, not people.

Avoid harsh gestures: squeezing or pulling the tail causes stress and defensive aggression.

If your kitten attacks your legs under the blanket, it's just following instinct. Move active play to the evening so your pet is tired by night.

Feed him before bedtime - a well-fed predator will fall asleep faster. Ignore night provocations: any reaction, even negative, is perceived as a continuation of the game.

Raising a kitten is a dialogue where patience and consistency replace punishment.

Don't shout, don't isolate your pet, and certainly don't hit it.

Over time, he will learn to trust and stop seeing you as a “victim.”

In the meantime, stock up on toys, peace and love - they work wonders.
