According to Petcube , 40% of cats regularly "travel" to closed closets, and 20% of dogs sleep... in washing machines. But that's not all.
A Whistle Labs study of 1,000 pets found:
- 30% of cats look out the window for more than 2 hours a day, “tracking” birds.
- 15% of dogs bark at their own reflection in the mirror.
- 5% of cats turn on equipment (such as a TV) by accidentally hitting it with their paws.
The owner of the Maine Coon, Victoria from Kaliningrad, shared:
"My Grisha opens the refrigerator! Now we put a heavy book on the handle."
Zoopsychologists explain: such behavior is a consequence of boredom or an attempt to reproduce the actions of the owners. To solve the problem, experts recommend:
- Leave interactive toys with treats.
- Turn on audiobooks or classical music ( SPCA research confirms that this reduces anxiety).
- Install cat perches near the window to keep an eye on the street.
