You've Definitely Never Seen This: A List of Records That Will Make You Doubt Their Reality

Imagine that somewhere in the world a person managed to jump higher than his own height, and another lay in a bath with spiders longer than you can stand your morning alarm clock.

Records are not only sports or scientific - sometimes they are so strange that it seems as if they were invented as a bet.

For example, did you know that there is a record for the longest time riding a bike backwards? One daredevil rode it for over 100 kilometers, and it took him almost 10 hours.

And what about the biggest snowball ever rolled? It was over 6 meters in diameter – that’s like a two-story house made of snow!

But records are not only about physical achievements. The world of technology has its champions too. For example, the longest selfie marathon lasted more than a day: the participant continuously photographed himself, changing costumes and backgrounds.

There's also a record for solving a Rubik's cube underwater - and without a special mask! It seems some people are willing to do anything for a place in the Book of Records.

But what drives these people? Most often, it is passion and the desire to prove that the impossible is possible.

Some people set records for fame, some to overcome themselves, and some just look for a reason to have fun.

For example, in Japan, there is an annual grimace championship, where participants compete in their ability to make the most ridiculous faces. The audience votes for the winner, and it looks so funny that even the strict judges can't hold back their laughter.

And then there are the records that animals set! The longest cat in the world measured 120 cm from nose to tail tip – that’s longer than the average first-grader.

And a parrot who knew more than 1,000 words could hold a conversation better than some people. Such stories make you wonder: maybe we underestimate our smaller brothers?

But not all records are harmless. Some extreme sports enthusiasts risk their lives for the title of "first".

For example, trying to swim under ice without scuba gear or jumping from a height without safety equipment. Fortunately, most of these stunts remain just ideas – common sense sometimes wins over ambition.
