The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus adopted in the first reading the draft law on real estate activities.
The document is aimed at comprehensive regulation of the specified activity at the legal level.
What's in the draft law on real estate activities
As BELTA reports, the draft law provides for the creation of a self-governing body – the Chamber of Realtors.

It will carry out functions to regulate the activities of the professional community of realtors.
Thus, the Chamber of Realtors will protect the interests of its members, take measures to ensure that realtors comply with the law, provide methodological guidance, and participate in the preparation of draft regulatory legal acts.
The institution of real estate agents is being abolished. Only people who are members of the Chamber of Realtors and who have a certificate issued by the Ministry of Justice based on the results of passing an exam will be able to provide real estate services.
The requirement for an applicant to have a certificate of specialized education is cancelled. This will allow a wider range of people to gain access to the profession.
The applicant will have to take training courses in the real estate sector. Periodic certification of realtors is also being introduced.
