Peonies are a great gift for any occasion. They look great at any time of year, not just in summer.
This flower can be seen in lush bouquets – the peony looks expensive and beautiful.
Unfortunately, like most cut flowers, it does not last long in a vase.
But there is a way that will allow you to extend the time during which the peony will delight its owner with its beauty.
What to look for when choosing
First of all, you need to look at the bud - it should have an impressive color and size. Buy a flower that has just recently begun to open.
In this case, the peony will stand in the vase for about a week.
But you shouldn't buy flowers with dense and green buds - you don't know what they will be like when they bloom. It may happen that they won't open at all.
Before placing peonies in a vase, trim them at a 45-degree angle. It is best to remove most of the leaves, as they absorb moisture.
