You can tell good quality sprats from low quality ones even in the store.
To do this, you need to correctly study the information on the tin can.
The sealed container must have certain letters and numbers on it.

If you don’t have them, then you shouldn’t buy such sprats.
But if such markings are present, then feel free to purchase the product: it will delight you with its bright taste.
What letters and numbers should be present on a can of sprats
Carefully study the markings on the packaging.
The letter "P" must be applied. This designation means "Fish production".
The absence of such a symbol is a reason to refuse to purchase the product.
Below there should be a series of numbers or alphanumeric combinations.
It is desirable that the following three numbers be present in this line: “137”.
This code indicates that the Baltic sprat inside is the tastiest option.
If instead of “137” you see the code “379”, then there is herring in the jar.
The combination "K21" means that the sprats are from the Black Sea sprat. And the designation "52A" indicates that the canned goods contain North Sea sprat.
Don't forget to check the production date and the expiration date of the product. You shouldn't buy sprats that are approaching their expiration date (or even expired).
