Tomorrow, February 14, is Valentine's Day, or the Day of All Lovers.

Florist Natalia Kolganova told us how to choose the perfect bouquet for this holiday.

How to choose a bouquet for February 14

As Kolganova told the publication Gazeta.Ru , a classic bouquet of red roses is always relevant.

An excellent option would be roses with matthiola and alstroemeria – the bouquet will be more lush.

You shouldn't take the most expensive and bright bouquet without looking, the expert noted.

To choose fresh flowers, the first thing you should pay attention to is the bud.

It should be dense. The petals and leaves should be elastic and hold their shape well.

Also, there should be no darkening or spots on the petals. The stems should be green, strong, and elastic.

If they are slippery, the flowers have begun to deteriorate. There should be no brown spots around the cut.

A whitish and dry cut is also a bad sign, Kolganova added.

The florist also recommended smelling the flowers: the smell should be pleasant.

Avoid flowers with a sour or musty smell, the expert warned.
