Avocado is a very healthy product. The avocado tree is native to Central America and Mexico.

However, residents of colder countries can also grow this plant themselves and at home.

The avocado seed contains a lot of hormones and energy, so getting a sprout from it is not that difficult.

How to Sprout an Avocado from a Seed

There are only two methods of growing a sprout in this way:
• closed;
• open.

In terms of complexity, they are practically the same, and the time it takes for seedlings to emerge is the same.

When using the closed method, place the seed in a container with pre-prepared soil. The blunt end should be at the bottom. Leave 2/3 of the height of the sharp end on the soil surface.

When using the open method, you should make 3-4 holes in the seed using a sharp object.

Then the bone is secured with matches or toothpicks and placed in a vessel with clean water. The bone on the supports should remain suspended and go under water by half.

To use the open method, filtered and settled liquid should be used.

In addition, it is necessary to replace it every 4-5 days. If the care was correct, the emergence of shoots can be observed in about a month. Transplantation into the ground is carried out after the root reaches a length of 5 cm.

Using the closed method, you can eliminate additional stress for the sprout, since it will already be growing in the soil and will not need to be replanted. However, the open method allows you to observe the amazing process of hatching and growing a tree.

How to Properly Care for Avocado

The germination process is very simple, however, to ensure further growth and full development of the plant, it is necessary to carefully care for it.

If you do not do this, the avocado may die. First of all, you should take care of the temperature regime and timely pruning of the seedling.

You need to decide on a permanent growth location in advance and not change your decision in the future. To avoid slow growth and fading of leaves, it is worth choosing a site without shade.

A plot near a window on the western side of the room is suitable. Despite the need for good lighting, such a plant should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

Avocado is a tropical plant, so the ideal temperature for it is from 22 to 26 degrees. At temperatures below 5 degrees, the tree dies.

Air humidity is no less important. It should be at least 60%.

In spring and summer, avocado should be watered daily with plenty of water so that the soil does not dry out, but you should not overwater the plant either. With the onset of autumn, you can reduce the frequency of watering the soil to once every 2 days.

You should start fertilizing the plant only 4 months after the avocado was transplanted to its permanent growth location.

Replanting is required every year, and when the plant reaches 4 years of age, the frequency of replanting can be reduced to once every 3 years.

Following the above rules, it is quite possible to grow an avocado tree yourself. With proper and high-quality care, the plant will actively grow and fully develop.
