A vacuum cleaner is usually considered a device for collecting dust, but with one trick it can be turned into a powerful air purifier and disinfector.
All you need is a handful of regular baking soda.
Before cleaning, you should cover the carpet and furniture with a thin layer of baking soda. It would be a good idea to do the same with the mattress.

Let the baking soda sit for 10 minutes to allow it to work, then vacuum it up.
Baking soda will absorb odors, loosen old dirt and kill bacteria.
But that's not all. If you pour 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda directly into the bag or container of your vacuum cleaner, it will act as a filter.
Dust will not fly into the air during cleaning, and a barely noticeable scent of freshness will remain in the room.
Just don’t overdo it – too much powder can clog the engine, which will obviously lead to breakdown of the household appliance.
Another important note: this method is not suitable for wet cleaning.
The thing is that baking soda, when mixed with water, will turn into a paste that will be difficult for you to remove.
To enhance the effect, add a few drops of lavender or lemon essential oil to the soda - the vacuum cleaner will spread the aroma throughout the house.
And if you have pets, this method will help neutralize the specific smell inherent to them.
