Decorating a New Year tree before the holidays is always interesting and fun. But regardless of whether it is natural or artificial, you will still have to take it down.

Psychologists warn that this needs to be done on time, that is, not immediately after the holidays, but also not delayed until spring.

Psychologist Stanislav Sambursky told Gazeta.Ru when it is best to take down the New Year tree.

When to take down the Christmas tree

It turns out that the habit of leaving the Christmas tree up until spring indicates a sign of depressive disorder.

But in order not to harm your mental health, you need to do this as soon as you are psychologically ready.

Too early

If you rush, you may experience unpleasant emotions due to the “long-awaited holidays that quickly passed.”

It's too late

But if you leave the tree for too long, then interest in the New Year holidays in the coming winter will be spoiled.

Therefore, the doctor believes that people who keep their Christmas tree up until almost April may be diagnosed with signs of “post-holiday depressive disorder” or “holiday addiction.”

These people do not want to go to work, avoid daily responsibilities and prefer to live in an illusion.

The expert advises changing your attitude towards the New Year, towards yourself and life, and also learning to relax and unwind.
